Day One Hundred and Sixty Three: Dog Days

sara hiding

A leggy blonde,
usually full
of curiosity,
has collapsed
under the well worn
dining room table,
where weighty issues
are often discussed.
Black wet nose,
eyes half closed,
sighing as if
the weight of the world
was too much for her shoulders.
Snores follow sighs
until a knock at the door
brings her right back to life,
building up her up again
padding across the floor,
curious once more.
